Anike Hansen, Rotary club de St. Martin Nord president, introduced the GSE team to President of the Collective, Louis-Constant Fleming. Mr. Fleming holds the highest elected office of the french half of the island.
We headed up to Fort Louis, where the Prefect of the Saint Martin has adjacent offices. The Prefect is the islands federal official that reports to Paris, France. In addition to his responsibilities of representation, Mr. La Croix has responsibility to enforce the laws of France and provide for health care and education.
After our meetings with the french government officials, we had lunch at the hosipitality school and broke out to our host families.
